Cover: During chronic liver disease, such as metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis, human HSD17B13 homodimers form liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS) in the liver, which promotes the biosynthesis of platelet activating factor (PAF) and activates the PAFR/STAT3 pathway to increase fi brinogen expression in hepatocytes, resulting in enhanced leukocyte adhesion and chronic liver infl ammation. See mjae018 by Ye et al. for details.
