Cover: Engineered circular RNAs (circRNAs) have exciting potential to be novel therapeutics. A clear understanding of the circRNAs’ immunogenicity would provide a foundation for translating circRNAs into therapies as well as offer insight into fundamental principles of how cells differentiate between self and non-self RNAs. Different features on the circRNA could drive immune activation or evasion, and the contribution of some characteristics still remains to be tested. See mjad002 by Tai and Chen for details.
