Cover: Both CD8+ T cells and natural killer (NK) cells play important roles in the host defense against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. In retest-positive (RTP) patients, the expression of activation markers on CD8+ T cells and NK cells significantly declines. The expression of immunosuppressive molecules (e.g. ID1) increases, while the expression of IFN-stimulated genes (e.g. IFITM10) decreases. The production of granzyme B is also lower in RTP patients.
