Cover: Several large multi-subunit chromatin modifying or remodeling complexes contain nuclear actin and/or nuclear actinrelated proteins (Arps). Our structural analyses of INO80 complex and its actin/Arp module, combined with 3D reconstructions of different nucleosome binding states, illuminate that the highly mobile and flexible actin/Arp module serves a conformational switch controlling for nucleosome binding.
